It has to be said the Tibetan people are beautiful. They remind me of the American Indians, Peruvians or Mongolians. Their features especially their high cheek bones are striking. Their traditional dress is so interesting, so different from the modern way of dressing. Each village has it’s own distinctive pattern so as to make them identifiable. The Tibetans believe that hair is a symbol of beauty so both men and women grow their hair as long as they can. They tie them up into braids intertwined with coloured cotton to beautiful effect. I so badly wanted to take close up pictures of them but they believe that this can cause a reduction in the length of their life, so most refused when asked. We had to revert to covert tactics of taking pictures from behind or me pretending to pose while Cameron zoomed in over my shoulders.
So being intrusive was totally fine. Next time I’m going to steal your camera, even if you say no.
Angrytibetangirl has it going on these days.
Jeeeeeeeeeeez. That’s like saying ‘My friend is vegan, so I have to resort to slipping egg yolks into her soy milk’. Or ‘so and so doesn’t like it when I smoke around him, he thinks it reduces the length of his life. So I have to resort to holding a breath of smoke and breathing it out when I walk past his office.’
What is wrong with people.
