OOTD some time last week.

Dress: Harris Scarfes, size 18

Singlet: Kmart, size 16

Leggings: Cotton On, Size whatever the biggest they have, but also really stretched out.

Boots: Retrostar vintage in Melbourne.

Glasses: Perscription

New haircut: $30 hair trimmer from Kmart, and a half an hour.

Man, I really need to deal with the weeds in my front yard.

OOTD today.

Had an afternoon tea birthday party to go to. I don’t really have anything fancy, so I made myself a dress. It’s a mashup of Butterick 4443 and my own sloper for the bodice. I bought the pattern after seeing Tegan’s version.

Not happy with the neckline - I had a few issues and basically winged it, but I think I know how to make it better. It is far from perfect, but I’m really pleased with it as a project. It came together surprisingly easy, and I didn’t freak out at the mistakes. I think I might have leveled up in sewing :P I will definitely make this pattern again, now I have some of the kinks ironed out.

Fabric is just plain cotton from Spotlight. Fat necklace is from Natalie. Hot from the Gilles St markets. I’m wearing a super dodgy petticoat that I made for a costume a couple of years ago. I think I need to buy a nice one.

Went to the party with my sweetie, who also kindly took the photos. But I took this one.

Steven

Halloween costume for a party Saturday night.

I was Coraline, since I have the blue hair already. I bought the blue top and painted the stars on, and bought the doll base, but otherwise I made or already owned everything. It didn’t turn out 100% like I wanted, but I was pretty pleased.

Only two other people at the party knew who I was, but I enjoyed the night and my costume anyway.

OOTD for yesterday.

We had a ‘neon’ themed party to go to. I don’t really have much super bright stuff, turns out. I don’t wear this skirt much because it is a bit bright for my comfort zone, and also a bit short since my arse got bigger.

I ended up feeling pretty self conscious. You can see my bra through that top, and also, NIPPLES. But guys, that’s just how my nipples are, and it was really hot and damned if I’m wearing uncomfortable things just because I have pointy nipples. So I wore it anyway, which I am calling a win. I didn;t think I’d enjoy the party much but I ended up talking about the Cold War and webcomics and YA fiction with someone who has previously just been an acquaintance, which was awesome and I had a ball.

Singlet: Kmart, size 18.

Skirt: Cotton on, size 16

Shoes: birks.

Bike shorts (which you can see peeping out the back): DIY

Blue lipgloss: Shiro cosmetics.

OOTD photo from last week.

Here is the apple skirt I made. It is super dodgily finished but I love it anyway, and also it has POCKETS.

Singlets: both from Kmart.

Ugh and I’m definitely cutting my hair off.

Back in stock!  Our Meringue Petticoats in Black, as seen on Tess Munster.  We’ve got sizes XL and XXL (fits up to 50” waists) and runs just $49.99.

I like when people say “just” right before the price to make it seem like not a big deal but it’s actually really expensive. SUPER cute, but can’t afford it no way no how.

Sometimes I feel like the only person in the world who notices things like that.
It is cute. But yeah can’t afford it either. That one thing costs more than my entire outfit today excluding my bra.

I feel like any time I hear ‘just’ in front of a price I automatically decide I can’t buy it. Like oh, it is obviously some kind of scam or they are rolling me. Which is not really fair, but on the other hand… quit trying to trick me into buying shit.
I could afford that. But only with some serious thought and budgeting. It’s certainly not ‘just’, especially considering postage. I get that you can buy petticoats for a lot more than that, and it’s a pretty good price. But… $15 is ‘just’. $50? Hmmm.

[image: Two images. They are both of me, a light skinned woman standing in front of a red door with ornate iron hinges (it’s a church door on Swanston street in Melbourne). Both photos are from the boobs up. She has dark hair pulled back, and is wearing green glasses, a black jumper with a red tractor printed on it, and a knitted fox stole around her neck. In the first photo she is smiling, raising her eyebrows, and pointing her finger at her chin in a parody of retro cheesecake. In the second photo she is pursing her lips like she’s about to blow a kiss. She looks ridiculous!]

Me, in Melbourne, hamming it up because my boyfriend just said I was cute.

Have I posted a photo with my green glasses before? I love them so much. I haven’t had even so much as a teeny migraine since I got them.

Top is from china. I was surprised it fit (the much thinner) me then, and I’m surprised it fits me now, 5 years or so later. Fox stole is knitted by me.

I made a thing!

It’s another fox stole.

I am very pleased with it.

It’s snuggly and lovely and I made it.

I wore it last week, while on holiday and being fat.
